How we quote, what we promise, what we need from you before we arrive, and what happens if something isn’t right. Written in plain English.
Who we are. This website is run by A1 Clean 4 You Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 14489594), whose registered office is 39 Ribble Avenue, Southport, PR9 8NA. We are a member of the National Carpet Cleaners Association, membership number 4104.
There are two parts to this page. Part A covers using this website. Part B covers the cleaning work itself — it applies once you book a job with us. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
Applies to anyone browsing a1clean4you.co.uk
Everything on this website — the words, the photographs, the video, the layout and the logo — belongs to A1 Clean 4 You Limited or is used with permission.
You’re very welcome to read the site, print a page, or share a link with someone. What you may not do is copy our words or our photographs onto another website or into your own advertising. If you’d like to use something, just ask us — we’re usually happy to say yes.
Where we show a price — carpet, sofa and upholstery, mattress and hard floor cleaning all from £90 — that is a starting guide only, to give you a rough idea before you get in touch.
It is not an offer and it is not a quote. Every job is different, and the real price depends on how many rooms or pieces there are, the type of carpet, fabric, floor or stone, and the condition it is in. Stone restoration, commercial work, after build cleaning and end of tenancy cleaning aren’t priced on the site at all, because they vary too much for a guide price to be any use.
The only price that counts is the one we give you in writing after we’ve looked at the job. That quote is free and you’re under no obligation.
We take real care to keep the information here correct and up to date, including our membership, our training and the methods we use. Even so, we can’t promise it’s complete or free of the odd mistake, and we may change it at any time. Nothing on this site is professional advice about your own carpets, furniture or floors — if you want to know what yours actually needs, ask us to come and look at it.
We link to a few other sites — our online booking system, our review pages, the National Carpet Cleaners Association, and our sister site for exterior cleaning. Those sites are run by other people. We don’t control them and we’re not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
We do our best to keep the site up, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available. It may be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and we won’t be liable for that. If you can’t reach us online, please just call 01704 607750.
How we handle your personal information is set out separately in our Privacy & Data Protection notice. You can change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Applies once you book cleaning work with us
Your contract is with A1 Clean 4 You Limited, company number 14489594, registered office 39 Ribble Avenue, Southport, PR9 8NA. We are not registered for VAT, so there is no VAT to add — the price we quote is the price you pay.
A lot of our work is for householders, and Part B is written with them in mind. We also work for businesses — offices, pubs, hotels and restaurants, landlords, letting and managing agents. If you’re booking us as a business rather than as a consumer, everything below still applies, with these differences:
We look at the job and give you a written quote. That quote stands for 30 days. After that we may need to look again.
Our quote is an offer to do the work. There’s a contract between us once you accept it — by email, text, WhatsApp, through our booking system, or by telling us to go ahead — and we confirm a date with you. Until then, nothing is booked and you owe us nothing.
If we find something once we start that we genuinely couldn’t see when we quoted — a floor that turns out to be something else underneath, or soiling far heavier than described — we’ll stop and talk to you before doing anything extra. We will never carry out additional chargeable work without your agreement first.
We don’t expect anyone to go hunting for the small print. So:
Signing confirms you’ve seen these terms and the risk assessment. It does not sign away any of your legal rights, and it isn’t a condition of the work — if you’d rather not sign, tell us and we’ll note that instead.
To get on and do the job properly, we need:
If you’re not sure about any of these — a flat, a shared car park, a permit street — tell us when we quote and we’ll work round it. It’s far easier to sort in advance than on the morning.
Before we arrive, please:
We’ll always treat your home and your things with care. But if something is damaged because it wasn’t moved, or because a fault we weren’t told about gave way, that isn’t something we can be responsible for.
We’ll always tell you honestly what we think we can achieve before you book, rather than promise something we can’t deliver. It’s worth knowing:
We valet the inside of lorry cabs and vehicles — seats, upholstery, carpets and headlining. We don’t wash the outside, and we don’t touch engines or mechanical parts.
We only clean cabs fitted with a night heater that is in working order. That isn’t a preference, it’s the difference between a job that comes out right and one that causes damage.
Wet cleaning puts moisture into a small, sealed space with very little airflow. The night heater is what drives that moisture back out. Without one the cab stays damp for days, and damp in a cab means condensation on the glass, a smell that won’t shift, and mould in the trim and headlining.
So if we arrive and the night heater isn’t working, we will not start the job. We’ll tell you why, and rebook once it’s sorted.
Please check the night heater before we come out. It takes a minute, and a cab we can’t clean is a wasted journey for both of us.
Vehicle work is booked around your fleet, and a wasted trip to a yard costs us a slot we can’t fill at short notice. So if we travel out to a vehicle and can’t start on it:
On fleet work this is counted per vehicle, not per visit, so one truck with a faulty heater doesn’t put the rest of the fleet on deposit.
Where we’re working at your yard or depot we follow your site rules, sign in and out, wear high-visibility clothing and keep clear of moving and reversing vehicles. Tell us when we quote about anything specific — a one-way system, a banksman requirement, an induction, or restricted hours.
Everything under “What cleaning can and can’t put right” above applies to a cab as much as to a front room. Cab interiors take heavy use, and ingrained wear on seat bolsters, cigarette burns, ink, dye transfer from clothing and sun-faded trim often will not come out entirely. We’ll tell you what to expect before we start rather than promise a cab that looks new.
Regular fleet work is arranged in writing — how many vehicles, how often, where, and how much notice either of us gives to change it or end it. Fleet customers are business customers, so the “If you’re a business customer” section above applies, including the Late Payment of Commercial Debts rate on overdue invoices.
If you’re not happy with the standard of our work, get in touch within 24 hours of us finishing. Tell us what your concerns are and how you’d like us to put it right, and send us photographs or as much supporting information as you can, so we can make sure your needs are met.
We’ll come back and correct it. If we still can’t get it to a standard you’re happy with, you don’t pay us for that part of the work.
The 24 hours is so we can see the work as we left it and put it right quickly — it is not a deadline on your legal rights. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected, and they last a great deal longer than a day.
What the guarantee covers is the standard of our cleaning. It doesn’t cover marks we told you beforehand were unlikely to come out, wear and damage that was already there, or anything that happens to the item after we’ve left.
We quote free of charge and there’s no obligation, whether you go ahead or not.
We may occasionally need to move a booking — illness, a vehicle problem, or a job before yours turning out to be bigger than anyone expected. If that happens we’ll let you know as soon as we can and agree a new date with you. There’s no charge, and you’re free to cancel and pay nothing if the new date doesn’t suit.
We’ll also stop and talk to you if, once we’re there, we don’t think the job can be done safely or without risking damage. We’d always rather have that conversation than press on.
We understand things come up. Please just give us as much notice as you can and we’ll move you to another day, no problem.
Sometimes we travel out and can’t start — we can’t get in, there’s no parking, no water or power, the rooms haven’t been cleared, or nobody’s home. Here’s how we handle that:
We won’t charge you at all where it plainly wasn’t your fault — an emergency at home, or something we could have flagged to you sooner.
Business customers: the three steps above are for householders. For business, commercial and fleet work the deposit comes in after the first wasted visit and we keep it if there is a second — see “If you’re a business customer” above.
Payment is due on completion of the work, on receipt of our invoice, by bank transfer. Our details are on the invoice. We don’t take card or bank details through this website.
There’s no VAT to add. For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit, and if so we’ll agree that with you in writing before we start.
If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after its date, we may charge interest at 4% a year above the Bank of England base rate, running daily from the due date until it’s paid. We’d always rather ring you than charge interest — if there’s a problem with paying, tell us and we’ll sort something out.
We are fully insured for the work we carry out.
If you think we’ve damaged something, tell us as soon as you notice it, and in any event within 7 days of our visit. Please send photographs if you can. Prompt notice matters — it lets us come and look while it’s clear what happened, and it’s what our insurer expects.
Please give us the chance to inspect it before anyone else repairs or replaces it. If someone else puts it right first, we may not be able to help. As above, this doesn’t take away your legal rights.
If we do something wrong, we’re responsible for putting right the loss or damage that follows from it in the ordinary way. What we’re not responsible for is loss that couldn’t reasonably have been expected, or anything caused by:
Except where we’ve been negligent, the most we’ll be liable for on a job is the price of that job.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — work must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price. If it isn’t, you’re entitled to have it put right, and to a price reduction if we can’t. Those rights sit above anything on this page.
Please tell us first, and please tell us early. Ring 01704 607750, or email info@a1clean4you.co.uk, and give us as much detail and as many photographs as you can.
We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and give you a full response, in writing if you’d like one, within 14 days. If we need longer to look into it properly we’ll tell you why and when to expect an answer. Most things are sorted out with a phone call and a return visit.
There are two different reasons we take photographs, and they work differently.
We never publish anything that identifies your address.
Your work is carried out by us. Occasionally we may bring in a specialist for part of a job, and where we do, they will never be on site without us being present.
Whoever does the work, your contract is with A1 Clean 4 You Limited and we remain responsible to you for all of it. You never have to chase anybody else.
Where we’ve quoted at your home rather than at business premises, you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
You can cancel within 14 days of accepting our quote, without giving any reason, and pay nothing. Just tell us — a call, text, email or the form below all count. We’ll refund any money you’ve paid within 14 days of being told.
Most people don’t want to wait a fortnight. You can ask us to start straight away, but the law says you must ask us expressly, and you should understand what it means:
Request to start work within the 14-day cancellation period
“I would like A1 Clean 4 You Limited to begin work before the end of the 14-day cancellation period. I understand that if the work is finished within those 14 days I will lose my right to cancel, and that if I cancel part-way through I will pay a fair amount for the work already done.”
We’ll ask you to confirm that in writing — a text or email is fine. You still keep every other right you have, including the right to have poor work put right.
You don’t have to use this — any clear message will do — but it’s here if you’d prefer it.
